As August hits its midpoint, and so many families prepare for the return of school, the staff at Annie’s Book Stop of Worcester is still working to bring you fun, entertaining, and educational events!
This Thursday, August 16th, we’re happy to open our doors for a reading, signing, and discussion with the award-winning poet, author, and interstitial artist, Shira Lipkin. The event runs from 7-9PM, so please join us for a unique, lyrical, and moving evening!
This September we are offering events with education in mind!
For those of you who couldn’t come to Elaine Isaak’s “Secrets to Selling Your Novel” three-hour workshop in July—you have another chance! On Saturday, September 22 from 2-5PM, Elaine gives local authors the chance to attend the class she’s given at conventions and conferences across the US: Let Elaine’s mistakes in publishing keep you from making them! Learn what you need to know to sell your books to publishers or independently – without getting yourself into unexpected trouble. Elaine will go over not only the technical business of writing, but will also go into the promotion required for a book to succeed in today’s market. The cost for this event is $40, or $30 for a member of Broad Universe, New England Horror Writers, members of Worcester Writer’s Collaborative, and students. Deadline for sign-up is September 19.
And teachers, we also have a special sale, just for you! (Because we appreciate all the work you do.)
Starting Saturday, September 22 and going through Sunday, September 30, bring your teacher’s ID and in addition to our regular 10% educator’s discount on already discounted items, get an additional 5% more! So, you’ll have a 15% discount on many of our already low prices.
And lastly, don’t forget the regular Spinning Yarns Thursday event that starts at 7PM! Bring your textile craft, your drawing pad, your journal, or your laptop to this weekly social event. This week we’re reading Eric Idle’s The Road to Mars.
May your life be filled with wonderful words!
