Annie's Book Stop of Worcester

The little bookstore that's bigger on the inside

Behind_The_Wheel_Cover_for_Kindle (1)School is starting and leaves are starting to turn, and Annie’s Book Stop of Worcester is just bursting with events for the month of September!

ABSW will be visiting the Golden Living Center Hermitage nursing home on Thursday, September 12th from 11 AM-2 PM to bring our books into the lives of those who may not easily come visit us.

On Saturday, September 14th, local suspense and horror author Erin Thorne will be visiting us from 2-5 PM for a reading and signing.

The following weekend, on Saturday, September 21, from 2-5PM, fantasy authors Jennifer Allis Provost and C.S.E. Cooney will be giving a talk on building fantastical worlds, as well as reading from and signing their books.

On Thursday, September 26, we’ve got two events in one day!  First, from 12-3 PM, ABSW will be visiting the Tatnuck Park Assisted Living Center with a special selection of books for those who may not be able to visit us. And then, in the evening from 7-9 PM, five local authors with stories in the Doorways to Extra Time anthology will talk about their writing and what would happen if, in fact, someone wished for extra time–and got it.

Right after that, on Friday, September 27th from 7-8:30 PM, Worcester Storytellers returns for their monthly open mic. As this is the one-year anniversary of the group’s rebirth, there will be three surprise features this evening!  Stop by and celebrate!

Finally, on Monday, September 30th, ABSW is starting a new regular event: The Open Book Book Salon (yes, we know we say “book” twice in the title; we like it!).  The OBBS is open to men, women…anyone who loves books and wants to talk about books. You can read whatever you want, share whatever you want from the reading experience, and hear what others are reading and loving (or not-loving, because sometimes there are books we don’t like!).  The Salon is open to anyone and starts at 7 PM, and will continue to be the last Monday of every month.  Keep an eye on our website events page, blog, and Facebook for more information!

Of course, don’t forget that every Wednesday we still host Spinning Yarns, a chance for crafty folk to indulge in their preferred crafts–knitting, crocheting, sewing, scrapbooking, writing, etc.–while listening to an audiobook or audio drama! Currently, we’re listening to Robert B. Parker’s High Profile.

So, come visit your Annie’s Book Stop of Worcester, the bookstore that’s bigger on the inside, this September and see what surprises you can harvest!
