First of all, thank you to everyone who came out this weekend for our Open House Day and our very successful afternoon with Liaden Universe ® creators Sharon Lee and Steve Miller! We were thrilled with all our guests and all the fun we had. If you missed the intergalactic party, we do still have a few signed copies left of the latest Liaden Universe ® title, Trade Secret. Come in and get yours while they’re still in the store!
Coming up on Saturday, November 16, from 11AM-9PM, ABSW is Counting Down to the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary! If you know our store, you KNOW how much we love our Doctor Who. (It’s just about a requirement to work here!) So, you know we’re excited about this 50th Anniversary! Stop in to the bookstore that’s “bigger on the inside” for an all-day event with a snacks, trivia, a costume contest, and more!
And then, on Friday, November 22, from 7PM-8:30PM, Worcester Storytellers returns for its monthly Open Mic with featured reader Sam Lalos! All readers welcome: fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and more!
Following that, on Monday, November 25, 7PM-8PM, the On Pointe Book Salon also returns for an evening open to every reader of any book to discuss what their reading and share what they love (or might not have loved). Closing out the month, for all you post-Thanksgiving shoppers, on Saturday, November 30, ALL DAY, we’re celebrating Small Business Saturday!! Better than Black Friday: Come shop your local businesses and put your holiday gift buying back into your own community! This year ABSW opens its doors to Worcester Writers Collaborative and other local authors who will be reading, signing, and sharing their books with you—all day long! Stop in any time to meet local authors and buy your favorite readers their holiday gifts!
And don’t forget Spinning Yarns event every Wednesday night at 7PM. Work on your favorite craft – be it knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking, writing, or whatever – while listening to this month’s audio drama or audiobook. Join us for a relaxing evening listening to good literature!
