Thank you to everyone who came out to the super-awesome, out-of-this-world events with Sharon Lee and Steve Miller on June 5 and Russ Cox and Teri Weidner this past Friday! We hope you all had as much fun as we did at our little “bigger on the inside” bookstore on 65 James Street.
Happy Father’s Day to all our friends who are dads! We hope this coming weekend is awesome for you!
There are also only four Fridays left to register your teen for our All-Day Teen Writing Workshop on Saturday, July 11.
The $60 registration includes the workshop, lunch, handouts, and individualized advice for members from the instructors. Registration deadline is Friday, July 3.
Instructor Ann Haywood Leal comes from a long line of musicians, artists, and teachers, but never has been able to carry a tune. So, she was given plenty of writing supplies. Eventually, she put those writing supplies to good use and wrote two middle-grade novels, Also Known as Harper and A Finders-Keepers Place. She’s taught for two years at the Westport Writers Workshop as well as a number of teen writing classes for libraries throughout Connecticut.
T.J. Wooldridge is the child-friendly persona of Trisha J. Wooldridge, who reviews dining establishments in Faerie for her local paper, much to the natives’ confusion, and writes grown-up stories and poems that occasionally win awards. She’s also designed a number of online courses and regularly teaches workshops at bookstores, libraries, and schools—including Smith College’s Conbust. She has co-produced the Spencer Hill Press anthologies UnCONventional and Doorways to Extra Time. Her novels include The Kelpie, The Earl’s Childe, and Silent Starsong.
We’re now midway into the super-busy and exciting month of June, and there have been quite a few updates to our schedule, so let’s get right to our events! As always, watch our website and Facebook page for ongoing updates!
