Leaves are starting to change, pumpkin spice is everywhere, and we can feel the crispness in the air like a fresh-picked apple. Also, Halloween is just over a month away!

And isn’t it just grand to curl up with a book and a comfy blanket on a chilly evening? If you’re looking for that special book, we at ABSW on 65 James Street can help!

Have you seen the season opener of Doctor Who that premiered this weekend??? Don’t worry, we won’t give you any spoilers, sweetie. But, if you want them, we have the latest Doctor Who Magazine.

Speaking of Doctor Who, we had a really fun time on talking about the Monsters of Doctor Who, this past Thursday. In fact, it was so good, we are continuing the talk to October 15 with the specific topic of Misunderstood Monsters of Doctor Who. This regular Doctor Who Talks event happens from 7:00 – 8:00 PM.

Coming up THIS WEEK, on Friday, September 25, Friday from 7:00 – 8:30 PM we have our regular Worcester Storytellers open mic and featured surprise reader event.

And NEXT WEEK, we’re happy to welcome back The Free People’s Artists Workshop returns on Monday, September 28 from 7:00 – 9:00 PM for an evening of networking and feedback. Artists and creators of all types are welcome.

And since we’re more than halfway through September, here is a sneak peek at what will be happening in October!

Saturday, October 3; 7:00 – 9:00 PM – Michael J. Cooper and The Rabbi’s Knight. Cooper shares his novel and the research behind it in a discussion about this historical thriller taking place during the Crusades and investigating the secrets of the Kabbalah.

Monday, October 12; 11:00 – 3:00 PM – Open Crafts for Columbus Day. Want something fun to do with your kids on this day off of school? Bring them in for a Drop-in craft day!

Friday, October 23; 7:00 – 8:30 PM – Worcester Storytellers featuring Paul McMahon.

Saturday, October 24; 12:00 – 8:00 PMSpooooky Storytime! Join us for our annual Halloween party and story time! Wear costumes, hear excellent stories! From 12:00-5:00 PM, we will have child-friendly read-aloud time and from 5:00 – 8:00 PM, we will have the really scary stuff for older audiences! Come celebrate ABSW’s favorite time of year.

Friday, October 30; 7:00 – 9:00 PM – Larry Correia and Son of the Black Sword. Join best-selling science fiction and fantasy author for an evening event of reading, discussion, and signing his latest book!
