Here we are at our last full week of May. To go with the warmer weather, we have just brought in a bunch of new titles for Summer Reading lists. If you’ve got a Summer Reading list and haven’t started looking yet, it’s not too late. Come in and see what we have, and if we don’t have it, we are still actively bringing in books, so we can place our orders based on your needs.

We were especially pleased to have a Star reporter visit us for our Rainbow Readers of Massachusetts LGBTQA book club this weekend! Our reading numbers are growing, which makes us especially happy—and we’ve got some special treats coming up for Rainbow Readers and Rainbow Readers Youth in the next few months, so stay “tuned” to the book club pages, as well as the ABSW event pages on Facebook and our website.

Also, we will be open during our regular hours on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM.

We also had a great time with Carl H. Johnson as he talked baseball and Red Sox with us for his book release, The Baseball Buff’s Bathroom Book on Sunday. We still have some signed copies for those of you who missed it. If you’ve got a baseball lover in your life, it makes a great gift!

With June right around the corner, we want to give our congratulations to all our students who received excellent grades this year!  From June 10-June 30, bring in your report card and for every A or A+, we will give you a free used book.  For every B or B+, we will give you a dollar voucher towards any book purchase. Great work to all of your excellent grades!

THIS WEEK, we have our two regular events finishing up the month.

TODAY, MONDAY, MAY 23, the Free People’s Artists Workshop meets at 7:00 PM to work on projects, share support, network, and give feedback to each other. Come in and share your work!

And then, THIS FRIDAY, May 27 at 7:00 PM, we welcome back Worcester Storytellers and their open mic. This month, they will have featured reader Barbara Roberts.

And because we’re excited for June, here’s a wee sneak peek…
