Happy Thanksgiving week! First and foremost, thank you to ALL of you for your continued support and love for our little “bigger on the inside” bookstore! Independent bookstores need your love to succeed, and we appreciate all you give us. May all of you in the U.S. have a wonderful holiday this week, with safe travel, where you’re surrounded by loving people.
Also, since holiday shopping season really kicks off after Thanksgiving, we’re gearing up to help you with your gift-giving needs. We have gift certificates available—and those really are a “one size fits all” gift. And then, starting December 1, we’ll be hosting daily blogs for some of our favorite and special items that we think you—and your gift recipients—would also love.
We had a wonderful time with all of you who came out to our Annual Doctor Who Celebration this Saturday! It was a grand time, and we had a lot of fun. In fact… we are thinking we might do something extra in summer, so keep an eye out! Also, we DO have our monthly Doctor Who Discussion Nights, so you can feed your Whovian hearts regularly!
Oh… and here’s a heads up: Watch our blog Tuesday, November 21 for a very special SALE announcement regarding our ongoing Doctor Who Collectibles TRUNK SALE!
We also thank our friends who came out this Sunday for our Rainbow Readers LGBTQIA Book Group! It was a different time and date than the usual meetings, but we still had a lot of fun.
As a reminder, Annie’s Book Stop of Worcester IS CLOSED on Thursday, November 23, in observance of Thanksgiving! Again, we wish all our friends and family in the U.S. a safe and wonderful holiday!
We are open again for our regular hours, 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM, on Friday, November 24.
AND THEN, the following Saturday, November 25, from 12:00 – 6:00 PM, we are celebrating Small Business Saturday with Haverhill House Publishing!
This year, ABSW partners with Haverhill House Publishing, a local publishing house who has put out books by many of our local author friends. This Saturday, join publisher John McIlveen and authors Bracken MacLeod, Tony Tremblay, James A. Moore, Matt Bechtel, as they read, sign, and answer questions about their work!
Money spent at local small businesses get returned to the community over and over; supporting small business means supporting the dreams of your neighbors. Small businesses, in return, help you get the most personalized and unique gifts for your loved ones this holiday season.
Signed and personalized books make wonderful holiday gifts, and the readings will give you a taste of the author’s flavor to make sure it’s just right for your gift. Small Business Saturday gives people the chance to support their communities—doubly so with ABSW. Not only are shoppers supporting the local bookstore, but they are also supporting local authors and artists.
And next week, for anyone scurrying to finish up their NaNoWriMo projects, we’ll have tables and quiet space set up ALL DAYon Thursday, November 30, for Come Write In! We even have coffee and tea to fuel our novelists!
Also, because we love you and are thankful to you, our customers, here’s a look at December!
