Happy Holiday Shopping Guide!! Annie’s Book Stop of Worcester, the “bigger on the inside” bookstore at 65 James Street, is happy to present our 2017 recommendations for gifts this year. If you are looking for a gift for someone who likes to cook, we have just the right gift for them. You may even get a side benefit – a meal cooked from one of our many varieties of cookbooks we have in stock!
We have all different types of cookbooks, so your gift recipient can make anything from soup to cookies. (I’ll bet you thought I was going to say nuts, didn’t you?) There are books on making soups, like The Soup Bible, by Debra Mayhew, then hors d’oeuvres & canapes by Arno Schmidt and Inja Nam. There are dozens of books on making entire meals, including one on making 30-minute meals by Rachael Ray. After that, there is, of course, dessert. You can get anything from The International Cookie Cookbook by Nancy Baggett, to Heavenly Chocolate by Christine France. Not to mention the baking books, and many other dessert only books on our shelves.
If you are looking for some local recipe books, we have them, too, one from Worcester, and one from Leicester. If you are on a special diet, we have cookbooks for low cholesterol diets, organic diets, diet diets, low calorie diets…
… ok, I just wanted to see if you were paying attention. But yes, we have many special types of cookbooks in the store. Please come into the store and check them out!
If your gift recipient’s hobby is not cooking, we also have many nice coffee table books (large hardcover books, usually with lots of pictures) to choose from. Many people like gardening, and although this is not the best time of year for it in this part of the country, gardening books might make people think about Spring, and what they may want to plant in their garden in the nice weather. We have Books like The Gardener’s Atlas, Bulbs and Tubers, and Home Landscaping, among others.
There are many coffee table books, some of them dealing with what people might have as hobbies, such as Trains, Ships, Travel, Crafts, Karate, and much more. These make great gifts, and are great conversation pieces.
Thank you for making Annie’s Book Stop of Worcester your neighborhood bookstore, and we wish you all a safe and happy holiday season!
