Annie's Book Stop of Worcester

The little bookstore that's bigger on the inside

Happy (or at least not terribly stressful) holiday shopping season!

If the thought of packed malls and stores fills you with dread and anxiety, stop by our cozy, small yet “bigger on the inside” bookstore at 65 James Street. We’ve got gift certificates, signed books, and other unique gift items sure to please just about everyone on your list. In fact, starting THIS WEEK, we’ll be posting gift ideas on our blog every day through December 24. (The store will be closed December 25, 2017.)

We had a spectacular Small Business Saturday with Haverhill House Publishing this past weekend. Thank you to Haverhill House Publishing, all the authors who read their work, all the fabulous people who visited, and all the photographers who shared their pix with us! (Some of today’s blog pictures are courtesy of Kevin Lewis and Tony Tremblay – Thank you!)

Gift suggestion: If you have a horror or thriller reader in your life, we still some signed books from our Small Business Saturday event!

And THIS THURSDAY, November 30, for anyone scurrying to finish up their NaNoWriMo projects, we’ll have tables and quiet space set up ALL DAY, so Come Write In! We even have coffee and tea to fuel our novelists!

Also, THIS SUNDAY, December 3, 1:00 – 3:00 PM, join us for Mindful for the Holidays, exercises for kids and parents to keep cool this holiday season.

As we hit December, stress sneaks into our lives–and the lives of our children. Whether it’s holiday planning, end of a school semester, or anything else, this time of year is tough on a lot of people. Being mindful helps.

Join us an afternoon of mindful exercises with author and 20-year mindfulness teacher Whitney Stewart’s MINDFUL KIDS activity deck. We will teach short, simple exercises parents and kids can do any time to calm themselves, give themselves a boost of energy, deal with stressful situations, and more! Leave the event having practiced mindfulness and with tools to continue.

Gift suggestion: We have these decks in stock. Stop in now if you’re in a rush or grab a signed deck at the event!
