Annie's Book Stop of Worcester

The little bookstore that's bigger on the inside

Welcome November!

As we move with the calendar and holidays, take a look at our changing shelves… and deeper discounts! Many of our spooky Halloween titles have had their prices lowered, and now we’ve got our Thanksgiving and December holiday titles—both new and used!—on display for folks to find. (And competitively priced for gift shopping!)

There’s also this cool thing that’s happening from our friends at The Book Loft… Love Your Bookstore Challenge! Stop into your favorite bookstore (we hope we’re your favorite bookstore!) and take a selfie with the book your most excited about this holiday season. Then, post it to your preferred social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) with the hashtag #loveyourbookstore, and be entered to win one of several bookish prizes! Follow the link for complete rules and information.

(And are you keeping an eye on our Facebook Page, our blog, and our website? Have you signed up for our newsletter? There is news coming you won’t want to miss…)

We do apologize for the inconvenience of having to cancel our events this past weekend. We are working to reschedule our Astronomy Night and Literary Rehab events, and will let people know as soon we have them set up!

But we ARE still having our great events THIS week!

THIS WEDNESDAY, November 7, starting at 7:00 PM, we resume our regular Board Game Night. Stop in to play some cool games and meet some cool people!

And THIS SATURDAY, November 10, we’re excited about TWO great events!

11:00 AM – 4:00 PM – Meet Curious George! Our favorite trouble-making monkey is IN THE HOUSE for people to meet and take pictures with. There will also be readings from some of our favorite Curious George titles—including the newest one, which takes place in a bookstore! We’ve also got in A LOT of new Curious George books, so if you’ve got a curious kid on your holiday gift list…we’ve got you covered!

6:00 – 8:00 PM – Labors of an Epic Punk Author Event. Did you ever wonder what the son of Odysseus did while his dad was having his grand adventure? Husband-and-wife author team, Mark and Sheri Dursin explore this with their novel, Labors of an Epic Punk. A school story that just so happens to take place 3,000 years ago, Labors of an Epic Punk is a tale of friendship and transformation, regret and redemption, and a reminder to us all that navigating the rough seas of high school can be just as scary as facing the Minotaur.

And we’ve got stuff happening the rest of November, too!

Saturday, November 17, ALL DAY – Annual Doctor Who Day!

Unfortunately, we do have to CANCEL Crafty Owls Drop-in Craft.

Sunday, November 18, 3:00 – 5:00 PM – Rainbow Readers Discusses Of Echoes Born by Nathan Burgoine.

Saturday, November 24, 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM – Small Business Saturday with Local Children’s Authors and Artists. Watch our Facebook page and the event page as we introduce our featured authors!

As always, keep an eye on our Facebook Events Page and our website for even more great family and children’s programming we’re putting together for you! Or sign up for our newsletter, and get that information right in your inbox!

As a reminder, here are our regular events…

May your world be filled with wonderful words!
