Happy Holiday Shopping Guide! Annie’s Book Stop of Worcester, the “bigger on the inside” bookstore at 65 James Street, is happy to present our 2018 recommendations of gifts for the winter holidays.
William Joyce is a shining star in children’s literature, both for his picture books and his chapter books for advanced middle readers and young teens. They hold an appeal for adults as well, and we at ABSW are happy to shine a spotlight on his work for this festive season.
November 2018 marks the release of JACK FROST: THE END BECOMES THE BEGINNING, the conclusion to the GUARDIANS OF CHILDHOOD book cycle, which started back in 2011 with Joyce’s gloriously painted picture book THE MAN IN THE MOON. The story branched out to encompass three chapter books, five chapter books, and a major motion picture from Dreamworks Animation – RISE OF THE GUARDIANS.
THE GUARDIANS OF CHILDHOOD as a series has mythic elements that will sweep you away, as well as fairytale elements that are as familiar as dear friends and give the comfort of warm slippers. It’s an achievement of balance between art and story and should be on the bookshelves of young and old alike.
Thank you, as always, for making our shelves your destination.
