For the past few years, Annie’s Book Stop of Worcester at 65 James Street has been proud to host the Rainbow Readers of Massachusetts, an LGBTQIA book club. Since partnering with the Rainbow Readers, the store has also created and grown our selection of queer titles and authors. Besides keeping these titles included in their genre shelves, we created a whole section so readers specifically looking for both fiction and non-fiction can easily find books.
We’re also thrilled that we’ve had the chance to collect some unusual and vintage queer fiction, as well as several independent and small press titles by local authors who identify as LGBTQIA. Throughout the year, we also host several events celebrating the stories and art of our LGBTQIA community.
If you’ve got a reader looking for LGBTQIA titles or you want to support the queer community this holiday season, stop in and peruse our shelves and displays. You can also stop by this month’s Rainbow Reader’s book club meeting on Saturday, December 15, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. We have this month’s title, The Baker Thief, right at the register!
