Our restock shipments this week have included a nice spread of titles from the WHO IS / WHO WAS / WHAT IS / WHERE IS series from Penguin Workshop. Just in time for educators to use in their coursework planning for upcoming theme months, these books sell quickly and have a dedicated following.
This Friday, January 25, 2019, the winners of the Caldecott Medal and Honor Books, the Newbery Medal and Honor Books, the Coretta Scott King Award and Honor Books, and various other luminary awards in the realm of children’s and young adult bookselling will be announced. On February 14, 2019, the Cybils Award winners will be announced. Since many of the picks of these two occasions, overlap, we at ABSW would like to present you with our new-in-stock titles among this year’s favourites.
- JULIAN IS A MERMAID by Jessica Love
- THE DAY WAR CAME by Nicola Davies
- DREAMERS by Yuyi Morales
- BLUE by Laura Vaccaro Seeger
- INKLING by Kenneth Oppel
- SWEEP: THE STORY OF A GIRL AND HER MONSTER by Jonathan Auxier
- COSTUME QUEST by Zac Gorman
- CHILDREN OF BLOOD AND BONE by Tomi Adeyemi
We will have more of our favourites listed in next week’s blog, and we wait with bated breath for the results of this year’s winners.
Thank you, as always, for making our shelves your destination.
