Once again the week of Thanksgiving, celebrated in November here in the United States, has arrived. What we are most thankful for, here at our little bookstore that’s bigger on the inside, is YOU, our loyal customers. The year 2021 marks twelve years that we’ve been your full-service independent bookstore at 65 James Street in Worcester, Massachusetts… TWELVE YEARS!!! Again, our thanks go to each and every person, whether you’ve been shopping with us for years or whether you’ve just discovered us.
And for both long-time shoppers and new arrivals to the area, we’ve got a real treat in store for you! We will be stocking the MONOPOLY – WORCESTER EDITION board game and are taking paid pre-orders now. We continue to do our very best to offer a SAFE shopping environment, since the COVID-19 pandemic remains a constant concern. This includes having all employees and customers wearing face masks, enforcing social distancing within the storefront, wiping down and disinfecting surfaces between customer transactions, and having hand sanitizer available for use.
For this week, the hours of operation are:
MONDAY 11/22/21 THROUGH WEDNESDAY 11/24/2021: OPEN FROM 10AM TO 8PM
THURSDAY 11/25/2021: CLOSED FOR THANKSGIVING
FRIDAY 11/26/2021: OPEN FROM 9AM TO 9PM
SATURDAY 11/27/2021: OPEN FROM 9AM TO 9PM
SUNDAY 11/28/2021: OPEN FROM 9AM TO 6PM
From November 29th through December 18th, we’ll be open 9AM-8PM Mondays through Thursdays, 9AM-9PM on Fridays and Saturdays, and until 6PM on Sundays. Holiday hours will be posted.
These expanded hours are to offer you more choices as to when to shop safely, rather than crowding people together in more limited times and spaces. We want to give you the opportunity to shop at your own pace and convenience. Longer hours of availability mean fewer customers in the store at any one time during the shopping day, which reinforces our safety and capacity measures.
We have two events in the upcoming weeks leading up to the end of the calendar year.
For Small Business Saturday 2021, we’ll be hosting The Worcester Mineral Club, members of which will be giving short demos and talks, to limited audiences, every half-hour between 1PM and 4PM. More information can be found on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/events/636445827718032
On Saturday evening, December 11th, the Rainbow Readers book discussion group will be having a small social gathering at 6pm for old and new members.
