Annie's Book Stop of Worcester

The little bookstore that's bigger on the inside

This week there were not very many books on the list of new arrivals, probably because of the July 4th holiday, so many of the books you see here are actually being released next week. I have indicated them with a *. I hope everyone has a nice weekend.

The first two books making an appearance are speculative fiction:

THE MEASURE: A NOVEL by Nikki Erlick – Would you like to find out how long you have to live? Each character in this story receives a box featuring the same inscription, “The measure of your life lies within,” which varies in only two ways: the name of the recipient and the length of the single string inside.

STAR WARS: SHADOW OF THE SITH by Adam Christopher – Another book in the Star Wars saga.

What would the Summer be without Romance???

SMOLDER (THE STEEL BROTHERS SAGA #22) by Helen Hardt – Romance between one brother and one woman leads to his brother consoling her sister over a failed relationship, and things gets pretty hot.

And now… wait for it…. Mystery/Suspense:

SUSPECTS: A NOVEL by Danielle Steele – A kidnapping and ransom of a Fashion Mogul ends in tragedy. The wife and mother of the kidnapped victims, a successful fashion businesswoman herself, decides to go back to work running her company after the case goes cold, despite evidence linking it to his Russian competitors. She crosses paths with a high society networker, who, unbeknownst to her, has been flagged by the CIA, for his Russian contacts. Enter CIA operative Mike Andrews, who is concerned for her safety when she and the networker are on the same flight, and so begins a covert operation, without her having any idea that she is in grave danger.

*ARMORED by Mark Greaney – An elite guard loses his leg while on a mission. Then he takes on something really difficult.

*CONFIDENCE by Denise Mina – This is a sequel to her Reese Witherspoon x Hello Sunshine book club pick Conviction (The Los Angeles Times). While on vacation, Anna and Fin find themselves trying to solve the mystery of a kidnapped young YouTube star before it’s too late.

*REPUTATION: A NOVEL by Sarah Vaughan – A politician’s reputation is extremely important. One slip-up and it’s gone. Imagine what finding a dead body of someone in the house of a politician (especially female) would do to their reputation? Especially if the dead person is a man she had every reason to be afraid of and to want gone.

*RISING TIGER: A THRILLER by Brad Thor – A Scot Harvath novel. Thrust into a completely unfamiliar culture, with few he can trust, Harvath will risk everything to untangle the explosive plot and bring every bad guy to justice.

As always, thank you for making our shelves your destination.
