Hello, Everyone. The weather hasn’t changed much since last week, but the books, as always are changing. The books on this list will all be on sale next week, starting 8/16/22.
Non-Fiction Biography:
DIANA, WILLIAM AND HARRY: THE HEARTBREAKING STORY OF A PRINCESS AND MOTHER by James Patterson – Biography of Princess Diana and the two sons she bore, one to become the King of England. This is an interesting view of the Royals from James Patterson, as only he can tell it.
Romance:
ADDICTED TO YOU by Krista & Becca Ritchie – This is an adult romance dealing with addiction – Sex for one person and Alcohol for the other – but could it possibly be addiction to each other that saves them? Recommended for readers 18+.
Fiction:
THE CHALLENGE by Danielle Steel is a story of friendship, with missing children in a battle for survival when they find themselves trapped on Granite Peak. Parents’ relationships are tested, families’ secrets are revealed, a new love is found, a search and rescue mission is launched, and families are forced to reconsider what they once held dear.
ELIZABETH FINCH by Julian Barnes is a novel about unrequited love, even after a person’s death. This novel shows the unorthodox forms love can take between two people; the narrator, Neil, who takes Elizabeth’s class on Culture and Civilization and has an intellectual crush on her, and Elizabeth, a private, withholding yet commanding woman.
Mystery/Thrillers:
ALL GOOD PEOPLE HERE by Ashley Flowers finds Margot Davies, a journalist returning to her hometown to care for her sick uncle. She begins remembering and being haunted by the thought that a killer who killed the 6-year-old child who lived next door when she herself was six could have killed her instead. The killer was never found. Things in town have not changed, and when news breaks that a child in the next town was missing under similar circumstances, Margot vows to find the girl and solve both crimes.
OVERKILL by Sandra Brown is a thriller pitting a would-be-killer (Eban) recently released from jail against a former Superbowl MVP Quarterback whose ex-wife was the victim of Eban’s attack. The MVP (Zach) despite their divorce has the medical power of attorney for his ex, and was asked to make a choice – leave her on life support or take her off of it, and he left it up to her parents. They kept her alive for the 4 years that Eban was in jail, but If Zach’s wife dies, and Zach kills her, Eban will be charged with murder, and he will be put back in jail. Eban plots to make certain that neither Zach nor Kate (the prosecutor who wants him back behind bars) lives to see the death of Rebecca—and the end of his freedom.
Horror:
RUN TIME by Catherine Howard is a horror novel about a movie being made at a cottage, in a forest miles away from anywhere deep in the wintry wilds of West Cork. Something isn’t quite right on the set of FINAL DRAFT. Actress Adele Rafferty is about to find out what.
Speculative Fiction:
STAR WARS: THE PRINCESS AND THE SCOUNDREL by Beth Revis is the story of Han Solo and Princess Leia after the war is over, as they spend time together married and on their honeymoon. Only is the war really over?
