Welcome back to Standard Time, here at our little bookstore that’s bigger on the inside. With the clocks being pushed back an hour this past weekend, it’s a reminder that nights are getting longer and the weather’s getting colder… the perfect excuse to stock up on books!
And autumn doesn’t end on the stroke of midnight on Halloween; in the book industry, the Fall season means loads and loads of new releases for the upcoming winter holiday season. Here’s a look at our publisher specials for November.
- THE NOBLEMAN’S GUIDE TO SCANDAL AND SHIPWRECKS by Mackenzi Lee, the newest entry in the YA series about the Montague siblings
- BOLDLY GO by William Shatner, a new memoir of the actor who will forever be known as Captain Kirk from STAR TREK
- THE SOUR GRAPE by Jory John, a new picture book release from the author of THE BAD SEED and its sequels
- SHAD HADID AND THE ALCHEMISTS OF ALEXANDRIA, a new middle-grade fantasy by debut author George Jreije
In addition we are still running our special sale on Colleen Hoover titles, as well as our personal recommendation of OMEGA MORALES AND THE LEGEND OF LA LECHUZA by Laeken Zea Kemp.
The colder weather means that our sidewalk sale carts now live indoors until after the snow melts. We’ve now set up one of our carts to exclusively feature do-it-yourself titles, such as gardening, crafts and needlework, and cooking and baking.
In addition to these markdown cooking titles, we also have a selection of this season’s new cookbooks. You’ll want these for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday and beyond.
Looking for a “guest gift” when you go visiting friends and family in the next few months? We’ve got a nice selection of single-panel and double-panel dishtowels, made by local crafters Perfect to brighten up their kitchens, or your own!
Our 2022 holiday hours will start later this month! We’ll be open on Monday, November 21st and Tuesday, November 22nd from 9am to 8pm. We will open on Wednesday the 23rd at 9am, but will close early at 6pm that evening, as well as being closed all day on Thursday the 24th, so that our staff may enjoy the holiday with friends and family. We will reopen on Friday, November 25th at 9am, and then our hours through mid-December will be the following:
MONDAYS THROUGH THURSDAYS: 9am to 8pm
FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS: 9am to 9pm
SUNDAYS: 9am to 7pm
We’ll be hosting our tenth annual celebration of Small Business Saturday on November 26th, featuring additional savings on top of our already value-priced items discounted between 20% and 70%, as well as door prizes and giveaways to the first 25 customers!
