It’s the end of January at our little store that’s bigger on the inside, and we welcome you to our Monday Updates blog!

While we wait for the Caldicott medals to be awarded today, January 30, 2023, I thought I would post some of the children’s books that I would like to make it to the winner’s list. I know that some of the favored books are:
Knight Owl by Christopher Denise (One of my absolute favorites), Blue by Nana Ekua Brew-Hammond, illustrated by Daniel Minter, and Action! by Meghan McCarthy (wonderful artwork!)
The books I also like are:
Pigeon & Cat by Edward Hemingway, Gib*ber*Ish by Young Vo, A History of Me by Adrea Theodore illustrated by Erin Robinson, The Circles in the Sky by Karl James Mountford, Where Butterflies Fill the Sky by Zahra Marwan and Out of a Jar by Deborah Marcero.

We have just re-opened our coffee stand after 3 years of trying to avoid COVID issues, which has basically been working pretty well. Come in and get out of the cold, have a cup of coffee on us, and peruse the store for your favorite reading material, whether it be new or old books, graphic novels, or even gift items, we have a lot of merchandise to see.

If you’d like to buy a snack to go with the coffee, we now have boxes (and boxes!) of Airheads, fruit flavored candy bars. Try it, you’ll like it!

Some of the special books we have just put out on our shelves are SPARE by Prince Harry, Heart Bones, the latest book by Colleen Hoover, and The Shards, a new novel by Bret Easton Ellis, the author of American Psycho. We also have To Boldly Go, How Nichelle Nichols and Star Trek Helped Advance Civil Rights by Angela Dalton and Lauren Semmer.

As always, thanks for making our shelves your destination.
