Annie's Book Stop of Worcester

The little bookstore that's bigger on the inside

Welcome to Annie’s Book Stop of Worcester’s official blog site. Annie’s Book Stop is located on 65 James Street in Worcester Massachusetts at the James Street Plaza. We have an ample parking lot and are situated next to the Berkshire Bank / Commerce Bank ATM.

OUR BUSINESS HOURS ARE:

Mondays through Thursdays 10AM to 8PM

Fridays and Saturdays 10AM to 9PM * Sundays 10AM to 5PM [7PM in the summer]

Not only do we offer a variety of new and used books, we are also the second biggest distributor of Doctor Who toys, books and full-cast audio plays in North America.

Our main goal is customer satisfaction. We want you to be both satisfied with your visit and looking forward to your next one… and to tell all your friends about us, naturally 😉

If you are having trouble finding a particular book on the shelf, please ask one of our friendly sales-floor associates what you are looking for and we would be very happy to help you in your search.

If we do not have something you are looking for, we can order the book for you if it is available. It would be at new book price but you would get a 20% discount off your purchase. However, if you would prefer to purchase the book used, we can put your name and number on our WISH LIST and if either a customer happens to turn a copy in or we are able to obtain a used copy by other means we will get in touch with you.

Annie’s also supports books written by local authors. You will find our local authors display right across from the service desk when you enter the store. If you are a local author, please contact us either by telephone or via e-mail to tell us about your book.

Our policy on bringing in pre-read books for credit… We do not buy books. What we do is give you store credit for the books you bring in. That credit can be used towards 50% of your pre-read purchase. Due to size limitations in the store, we prefer if you bring in a bag of 20 books or less, but we will take larger donations by appointment.

  1. Paul de Barros says:

    Hi,

Mark Lynch at WICN is going to do a half-hour interview with me on March 24 about my biography of jazz pianist and NPR radio host Marian McPartland. The book is called “Shall We Play That One Together? The Life and Art of Jazz Piano Legend Marian McPartland” (St. Martin’s, 2012). Just thought I’d let you know so you’d have some copies on hand.

    Thanks!

  2. I am an author of the Ciji book series. The first book titled My Name Is Ciji was written not only to entertain but also gently steer children away from participating in violent behavior.
This book and the ones to follow came to be as a result of what is going on in the world and in our country. Violence has occurred in movie theaters, political rallies, and other places.
My Name Is Ciji is a family friendly fiction. Please email me with any questions as I will love to participate in the upcoming activity April 11th.

  3. Thank you for being such an excellent resource for all kinds of readers, especially for Whovians. We look forward to having some of the Meetups for Doctor Who Fan Club of Central MA at the store.
