Also, happy end-of-school and graduation to all of you who are just finishing this week! Don’t forget, we do have rewards for your hard work and accomplishments! From now through Thursday, June 30, show us your stellar report cards. If your highest grade is an A, you receive two free used books. If your highest grade is a B, you receive one free used book. If you have a straight A report card (including A- and A+), you will receive a $10 gift certificate to ABSW. If you have a straight B report card (including B- and B+), you will receive a $5 gift certificate to ABSW. One prize per report card.
We also want to let everyone know that from now until Labor Day, we’ll have our extended Summer Hours—open until 7:00 PM—on Sundays. For our full hours or for any changes, keep an eye on our website and Facebook page.
One more important bit of news, Annie’s Book Stop of Worcester is happy to be able to offer pre-orders for in-store and mail order purchases of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. AND we will open our doors at 12:01 AM on Sunday, July 31, so you don’t’ have to wait to get your hands on this summer’s most anticipated book! We had a lovely time and a nice turnout for our Maurice Sendak Day this past Saturday, and we’ve got quite a week of events coming up!
THIS FRIDAY, June 16, we are hosting TWO events! From 4:00 – 5:30 PM, we are a Bloomsday Stop on the Worcester Ramble. The Worcester County Poetry Association brings the global celebration of James Joyce to Worcester, reading chapters and scenes from Ulysses at venues similar to those in the novel as they ramble across Worcester County—and this year, Annie’s Book Stop of Worcester gets to take part! Our chapter is Chapter Fourteen “Oxen of the Sun.”
And then, from 7:00 – 8:00 PM, owner Patty Cryan is hosting Doctor Who Discussion: Companions Continued. By request, we’re continuing our discussion of the Companions for the 6th, 7th, and 8th Doctors.
Later, THIS SATURDAY, June, 18, we have another TWO events! From 12:00 – 5:00 PM, ABSW continues our crafty Poets Assemble! in preparation for Take Your Poet to Work Day!
And then, at 6:00 PM, the Rainbow Readers of Massachusetts discuss Murder and Mayhem by Rhys Ford. Murder and Mayhem was a Lambda award finalist in the gay murder mystery category.

The Rainbow Readers of Massachusetts is an LGBTQA book club that will meet once a month on third Saturdays from 6:00-8:00 PM. Next meeting on June 18.
Rainbow Readers Youth of Massachusetts is an LGBTQA book club specific to teens, meeting once a month on first Fridays from 7:00-9:00 PM. THERE IS NO JULY RAINBOW READERS YOUTH. But stay tuned for something special in August!
