We are almost halfway through December! How are your holidays going? Have you gotten all the gifts you need?
If the weather is particularly frightful, and you can’t make it out to the store, did you know that Annie’s Book Stop of Worcester also ships out books from our 65 James Street location? Give us a call at 508-796-5613. If you order by this Saturday, December 17, we can deliver in time for Christmas. In fact, we do ship all year round, so don’t forget us after the holidays!
ABSW is also on TripAdvisor. Have you had a good experience at our “bigger on the inside” book store? Consider leaving us a review!
We hope you’re enjoying our Holiday Gift Idea blogging event, which we started on December 1 and will end on December 24. Between our regular event blogs and author interviews, the staff at ABSW has hand-selected some of our favorite things we think you might also want to share with the people you love. Need some gifting inspiration? Let us help!
Thank you to everyone who came out to our Rainbow Readers of Massachusetts event and our Holiday Songs & Stories with Sam Lalos & Linda McCarthy. We had a delightful time with all of you who came.
THIS WEEK, we’ve got more wonderful events for you!
THIS THURSDAY, December 15, from 7:00 – 8:00 PM, we are hosting our Doctor Who Discussion Group: Holiday Adventures. Join us while we discuss the variety of holiday specials, guests, and stories the Doctor has had over the years.
And then THIS SATURDAY December 17, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM, come and help us Put Some Scares Into the holidays with Horror Authors Pete Kahle and Tom Deady. Pete Kahle has been a voracious reader of science fiction and horror for as long as he can remember. In 2015, spurred on by the success of his award-winning novel THE SPECIMEN, Pete founded Bloodshot Books, a small press dedicated to cross-genre fiction that mixes horror, science fiction, mystery and thrillers. THE SPECIMEN introduces readers to the Riders, parasitic alien slugs, that have been among us for over 3000 years.
Tom Deady is the author of several short stories, as well as a non-fiction book on the Red Sox historic 2004 season. With a job at UMass Worcester, Tom is a lifelong resident of Massachusetts, where he is actively working on his next novel. Tom is bringing his debut novel, HAVEN, which according to reviews “is about scars, both literal and figurative; it’s about second chances and broken memories. This is a great small-town horror novel—a bullet-read with deep characters and perfect pacing. Best of all, it’s creepy as hell.”
