Now, onto the amazing events we have going on this week to finish up June!
TONIGHT, MONDAY, June 25, 7:00 PM, join us for the Free People’s Artists Workshop, for an evening of sharing art, writing, and whatever you’re creating with like-minded artists.
THIS WEDNESDAY, June 27, 6:00 – 8:00 PM, we are super excited to about Meredith Goldstein and Chemistry Lessons, a YA Novel!
Meredith Goldstein is an advice columnist and features reporter for The Boston Globe. She’s been writing her column,” Love Letters” — a daily dispatch of wisdom for the lovelorn — since 2009. In 2018, she’ll release two books: Can’t Help Myself: Lessons & Confessions from a Modern Advice Columnist, a memoir (Grand Central/Hachette/April 3), and Chemistry Lessons (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt/June 19), a young adult novel about a woman who tries to use science to manipulate her love life. Meredith’s debut novel, The Singles — about the only dateless guests at a wedding — was released in 2012. Meredith was born in New Jersey, raised in Maryland, and lives in Boston with a carnival-size cotton candy machine and a David Bowie doll. Visit her at www.MeredithGoldstein.com and on Twitter at @MeredithGoldste.
In Chemistry Lessons, seventeen-year-old Maya has the makings of a perfect life: a fantastic internship at MIT, amazing friends, and a devoted boyfriend. That is, until Whit unexpectedly dumps her over summer break. Shocked and heartbroken, she buries herself in the research her brilliant scientist mother left behind after she died. When Maya discovers that her mother was conducting research on manipulating pheromones to enhance human attraction, she finds she may have a solution to her problem. If Maya can finish her mother’s work, maybe she can rekindle the feelings that brought her and Whit together in the first place. But when she tests her experiment on two unwitting subjects, the results jeopardize both her friendships and her internship. Maya realizes that maybe love and loss can’t be understood using the scientific method. Can she learn to trust the unmeasurables of love and attraction instead?
